2005 Meeting Information (Hotel Arrangements Link) --> See AAPSE.ORG for meeting announcement
The Southern Extension Region Pesticide Coordinators are pesticide safety educators from the 13 southeastern states including: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. We serve as the Extension Service contact and pesticide safety education specialist in each of our respective states. We work together as a Region to coordinate programs and information pertinent to our clientele in the South. This homepage is the interface to our state programs and helps us coordinate internet and program resources.
As pesticide coordinators, we provide educational opportunities to people who use pesticides as part of their livelihood, help consumers with questions about the use and impact of pesticides in their everyday lives, and assist decision-makers such as local, state and federal government regulators and legislators. The Southern Region Pesticide Coordinators have played a major role in the establishment of the American Association of Pesticide Safety Educators (AAPSE). Several of our members are charter members and officers of AAPSE. While you are here, please take this opportunity to visit the AAPSE homepage.
Feel free to visit some of the pesticide related web sites within our respective states:
This site is maintained by Virginia Tech Pesticide Programs which is part of Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Virginia Cooperative Extension in Blacksburg, VA. Other related sites can be found in our list of other Web Sites. The Southern Region Pesticide Coordinators are part of the land-grant university system. The land-grant colleges and universities include the agricultural experiment stations and the cooperative extension system.
