Southeast VirginiaOne condition of our collaboration with the Southern Region IPM Center is to develop a list of statewide IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Priorities. This list will be used to direct research and extension efforts in IPM, Pesticide Programs, and related areas and will strengthen our abilities to compete for grant support. Your contribution will establish a base set of priorities. The current form of the database from this survey is published on the VA IPM Center website (part of VTPP.ORG).
Please provide up to five priorities for Extension, research and regulatory needs for your locality. Please identify the most important needs to agriculture (inc. ornamental & turf and urban pest management), public health, and the well-being of your clientele. What you provide should be somewhat specific, but not so specific that it can’t be lumped with a similar priority from one of your peers. Priorities don’t need to be just crop or pest specific. Include needs that can be addressed by education, research and regulation. For example, do your clientele need a specific educational tool to help them or research done to control a pest problem? Remember, IPM includes chemical and non-chemical solutions.
